Let me show you another really cool feature with Digital Marketer Lab. It’s going to let you do layering, which lets you send objects to the front or to the back. I’ll show you where this comes in handy. Let’s just say you have some text, so I’m going to go to Insert Text, and let me just write something on here, like say, The Digital Marketer Lab.

And I’m going to select that because I don’t want it to be that font color. Then I’m going to go over to the top right here, and I’ll click on Set Font Color, and I’m going to change it to white. Let me just move this on top of the monster. Let’s say for whatever reason, you wanted to hide the text behind the monster so the text isn’t in front of him. Here’s what you do: go ahead and click on either one of these.

I’m going to click on the monster, and right here at the top you’re gonna see these little buttons that say Bring to Front, Bring Forward, Send Backward, and Send to Back. Let me try bringing the monster forward. I’ve got him selected right now and I’m going to click on Bring to Front; watch what happens. Now the text is behind him, so no matter how I move the text, the text will stay behind him. See how that works? That is the beauty of layering. So it’s a really cool feature, now you know how to do it, you just click the Bring to Front, or Bring Forward, or Send Backwards button.

So now I’ve got this text selected, and I’m gonna do Bring Forward. And now he’s in front of the monster. Here’s another really cool feature that you can do with Webstarts. Let’s say for example that I want to move both of these things together; that I like the way the text sits on top of the monster, and I want to keep it like that, but I want to move my monster over to the
left, right? Well, what’s gonna happen if I just move the monster over?

I’m gonna have to go move the text individually, and it’s not very fun. So, let me undo that. Let me show you something cool: first, if I go ahead and click on the monster, I’m just gonna click on him once; now what I’m gonna do is click on the Digital Marketer Lab text, and when you do this, hold down the shift key. So when you do that, do you notice how it’s selecting both of them at the same time? Then go ahead and just move it over. Check it out, it moves them both together. And again, all I did was I first clicked on the monster, then I pressed and held the Shift key, and I clicked on the Digital Marketer text.

Just like that. Then, you can just move it over and it keeps things together, and there’s no limit to how many things you can grab. Let’s just say that I want to move all this stuff on top over to the left, so what I’m gonna do is first click on Digital Marketer, then I’m gonna press the Shift key, then I’m gonna click on Version 2.0, I’m gonna click on this guy, I’m also gonna click on the Digital Marketer Lab. You can’t see my keyboard, but I’m holding down the Shift key the whole time. I’m also gonna click on Welcome to the Monster with my Shift key held. There you go, it put boxes around everything, and all I do is just move it over. Is it cool, or is it cool? And I definitely screwed that up, so I’m gonna go to Edit – Undo, and there you go.

Then we’ll want to save our changes, so you can just go to File, and then Save and Publish. Here’s the thing: let’s say we want to set up another page. We want to set up our About page, right? We can go to our About page by clicking on this right here; see where it says Go To Page – Home? I’m gonna click on Home, and then I’m gonna switch it to About. Now, you see what the problem is? It did not automatically add all the changes that I added to the other page, right? I don’t want to have to redo that whole thing again. Well, I don’t have to because there’s actually a real quick fix for it.

Let’s actually first go over here to our Dashboard, so we’re gonna go back to our main section, and all I have to do is click on the Dashboard button at the top. Now what I want you to do is scroll down here. You see how they already have an About and a Contact page? Let’s just get rid of it; I’m gonna click the big red X right next to it - Delete. Yes, I want to delete it. Then we do is go to File, then New. Once you’re here you’ve got a few different options. Do you see here how I can go to Blank Page, Create a new blank page, or I can go to Copy from Page, make a copy of an existing page.
That’s exactly what we want to do. So I’m going to make a copy from Home, and I’m gonna call it About. Then I’m going to go to Create Page. Watch what it does. What it did was it created a duplicate page, and I can just set this up for About so I don’t have to redo the whole headline, the graphic and all that fun stuff. So this is where I can go down here and maybe I’ll say, like, About Us. Then I can go down here and I can edit this stuff, and I could say Hey, welcome to our page. Make sure you go to Google.com to check out how awesome it is! It will rock your socks off. I kind of sound like a robot, huh? So check this out: let’s say we want to turn Google.com into a link, so that way when people click it, it will take them to Google. We select it, then what we could do is go up to this picture that has a little chain link on it; this says Create Hyperlink.

I’m going to click on that, and look, I can actually link to one of my other pages, so let’s say that I wanted that link to take me to my Home page, or maybe a Contact page, or one of our
other pages. All we’d have to do is click on it. But, I want it to go to Google.com, right? So I’m going to click on Another Website, and I’m going to type that in right here: www.Google.com. I have the option to create that in another window, but I’m just going to go to Create Link, and that’s it. Look, it’s a link now. And I can do the same exact thing for pictures; I can actually click on this picture over here, and same thing.

I’m going to go to the link picture, and I’m just gonna click on that. Then, I’m going to have the picture take them to www.mcdonalds.com, why not? So we go to Create Link, and now this image is clickable. That simple. Oh yeah, I wanted to show you one other cool thing. You actually have the option here  to change how your links look. So let’s say you want to make it so that when they move their mouse over that link, it changes color, well, you can actually do that right here.

Here’s what I’m going to do: first, I’m going to click this so I’ll put the Underline text; I want it to underline my link, that’s a good idea. But right above it, I can click right here and it’s gonna change the color. So let’s say I want to make that link green. And let’s say when people roll their mouse over that link, I want it to change a different color. How about I want it to turn hot pink because that’s the way I roll, and tough guys wear pink.

At least that’s what this shirt says; I don’t know if it’s true. I’ll go to Create Link, and look at them apples. Look at what happens, when I move my mouse over Digital Marketer Lab, it now changes pink. Beautiful, huh? Let’s try playing with another design real quick. I just loaded one in and we’re starting fresh. Let’s say we like this design for a Home page, we’ll leave that as is. Let’s set up our About Us page. What I’m doing is I’m going to page About Us, so I’ll click on that. And for our About Us page, maybe we don’t want that slideshow coming up for that  specific page, so all I’m going to do is click on it, and I’m gonna press Delete, and it’s gone.

Let’s say we like this headline down here, WELCOME MESSAGE, and we want to get a similar headline at the top. Here’s what you can do: you can select it, then we can go to Edit – Copy, just like that, then I’m going to go to Edit – Paste, and it’s going to paste it right on top of it. So I actually just click my mouse down right on top of it, and I notice that there’s two now, so I’m just gonna drag this up to the top, just like that. I am going to double click on it, and it lets me edit the text. So maybe right here I’ll say About Us, right? Yeah, just like that. And I can go to Insert – Text, and I’m going to insert this text right down here.

I’m going to say, We here at Digital Marketer Lab Know to how to make AWESOMELY COOL (I know awesomely isn’t a word, but it is now, alright) WEBPAGES super easy….YEEEEAH baby! So now what I might want to do is stretch this out this way so that I can add a lot more text to it. So, that’s the way we roll.

In this article, I’m going to show you how to set up your Digital Marketer Lab page, so I’m going to show you how to tweak it, how to pimp it out, how to add that extra flare, and basically everything you need to know about Digital Marketer Lab  and how to use its tools, and yeah, all that good stuff. Let’s head over to ww.digitalmarketerlabbonus.net,  Type that in your little web browser, and it should take you to this website. Once you’re here, you’re going to see this video. Honestly, we don’t need to watch it, because it’s just gonna tell you how cool Webstarts is, but hey, we already know that, right? So let’s skip the video.

If you don’t have an account, you can click this big green button that says Sign up now - it’s free, or if you have a Facebook account, you can click this to integrate your Facebook account with Webstarts. Both work, either way, but hey, I’m just gonna go with the big green button Sign up now – it’s free, because maybe you don’t have a Facebook account. I don’t want to exclude you. So go ahead, click the big green button that says Sign up now – it’s free.

Then it takes you to this page right here, which is gonna ask you to click on a design for your site. You’ll be able to switch this around later, so don’t worry about picking the perfect one yet. For now, just spend a few minutes, try to find a site design that you like, and just run with it. Now, I actually see this one right down here, I think it looks pretty cool. I can check out what it looks like by clicking the Preview button, so let’s give it a shot. There’s the design, I like it, I like it a lot. So let’s just roll with it, alright? So I’ll close that window, and the one I selected was this one right down here, so I’m just gonna click on Select.

Then it just asks me for some of my contact information, which I just filled out, and once you do that, go ahead and click the Continue button. Now it’s gonna ask you for a website name, so you can pick whatever you want. If you wanna rank high for a keyword, you should probably put that keyword right in here. So let’s just say if you’re trying to rank high for Bowflex Revolution, if that was a product that you wanted to promote, you should probably put bowflexrevolution in here.

Or maybe Digital Marketer Lab. That’s a tongue twister. Or maybe I’m just tongue-tied. So it’s a good idea to put your main keywords in here if you’re trying to rank for a specific word. For this, for example I’m just going to throw in Digital Marketer Lab. So then what I’m going to do is go ahead and click on the Continue button. And, this is your Webstarts dashboard. As you can see, right up here at the top, my site is actually live. So if I just go ahead and open a new tab, there you go. The site is ready to go, and yes, I’m gonna want to change this stuff out, and we’re about to do that, so hold your horses.

This is where all the magic happens. You can go to edit your website, you can add cool sparkly text effects, and lots of other cool stuff. I’ll explain the stuff that really matters in
just a second. Right down here is a Getting Started video which will kind of walk you through some of the steps on how to use Webstarts. Also, feel free to check out the Help section if you need help, you get stuck, or if you got any questions. Help is there for a reason. First things first, let’s go ahead and edit our website. So I can click on this big button that says Edit Website, go figure. As you can see, it’s not so scary, there’s only a few options here, they’ve got big buttons, and wait until you see how powerful this thing is.

Let’s just say that you want to edit this text up here – enter your business name here. All you gotta do is click it and switch is. Go ahead and click on it, and then just type in your business name or website name, so I’ll just say Google Cash Monster, just like that, and then you can click off it. That simple. Maybe you want to change the color on this. Maybe you want to change it to red, green, purple, orange, I have no idea. You can change it to whatever color you want, and it’s very simple, alright? So let’s go ahead and select the text; I’m just clicking and selecting it.

Digital Marketer Lab – Font Color

And right over here on the top left, you’ll see Set Font Color. So if you click on this button, check this out, you’ve got tons of colors to choose from. Let’s just say I want to make it green. There it is, now it’s green. Not so scary is it? Let’s just say you want to make it bold, well, I can select this, and I can click Bold. I can select this, and I can make it underlined with this big underline button. If you want to change the size of font, that’s very easy too. So go ahead, select all this stuff, then you can click the size button.

You can make it bigger. But what happens if you make it too big? Let’s just say I go down here to 36pt. Well, now it kind of cut off some of the words, right? Oh no! Have no fear. Click on the text again, and you should see this big text box, and all you gotta do is drag it, just like that, and you can move it. Wanna see how easy it is to move text, objects, and pictures? Well, just click it and move it. Just like that. So when you click it, you should see your arrow change. Do you see right now how it’s to a move tool? Yeah, well if you see this, all you gotta do is move it around. And if you wanna move some more text in another spot, well hey, all you gotta do is go up to the top where it says Insert, then let’s click on Text. And we can type something in right here, so I’ll just say Version 2.0.

And if I want to just throw that over to the right, all I have to do is select it, there’s the big text box around it, now I just drag it and move it over. There it is. Move it around, tada! How cool is that? You can just edit this right here, I’m just going to double click on it – Welcome to the Digital Marketer Lab by Ryan Deiss! If you want to move anything around, you just click
it, you move stuff around.

Now do you see what I’m talking about when I say this program is stupidly simple to use? It really is. You can click on anything and move it around, just like that. Really easy stuff. And let’s just say you don’t like this picture, or you don’t want something on this page, hey, when you select the box, do you see this big red X? Well, let’s see what that does. I’m going to click it – delete this object- bam, it’s gone. And if you screwed up and say, hey, I don’t really want it gone, I want it to come back. Well, just go up here to Edit, and go to Undo, and there it is again.
Hey Sparky, do you wanna see how easy it is to add a picture to your website? It’s really simple. Don’t believe me, let me show you. Go ahead and click on Insert, then go down to where it says Image, so I’m going to click on Image. Then it’s going to pop up a window just like this. So what I’m going to do is go up here to the top to where it says Upload File since my picture is on my computer. So I’m going to go to where it says Choose File. Go ahead and click on that. Then, I’m going to go to my desktop since that is where my file is saved. So I’m right here on my desktop, I’m going to click on the Digital Marketer Lab.

There he is, and I’m going to click on Choose. And right now it’s uploading it. There’s my little monster guy; I’m just going to put a little check in it, and I’ll go over to Insert File, and there he is, my big green monster, just like that. I can move him around, make him dance, but unfortunately there’s a problem right now. This guy is huge, I don’t want him taking up my entire website, so I can just make him smaller. I’ll grab one of these corners and I’m just going to size it down. Look at what’s happening.

Do you see how perfect it looks when I make him smaller? Most website editing programs, when you go to shrink down an image or make it bigger, it looks all stretched out or screwed up. But do you see how perfect this looks, no matter what size the picture is? How cool is that? I’ll just move him down to about this big, and I can just put him over Digital Marketer Lab.
