Let me show you another really cool feature with Digital Marketer Lab. It’s going to let you do layering, which lets you send objects to the front or to the back. I’ll show you where this comes in handy. Let’s just say you have some text, so I’m going to go to Insert Text, and let me just write something on here, like say, The Digital Marketer Lab.

And I’m going to select that because I don’t want it to be that font color. Then I’m going to go over to the top right here, and I’ll click on Set Font Color, and I’m going to change it to white. Let me just move this on top of the monster. Let’s say for whatever reason, you wanted to hide the text behind the monster so the text isn’t in front of him. Here’s what you do: go ahead and click on either one of these.

I’m going to click on the monster, and right here at the top you’re gonna see these little buttons that say Bring to Front, Bring Forward, Send Backward, and Send to Back. Let me try bringing the monster forward. I’ve got him selected right now and I’m going to click on Bring to Front; watch what happens. Now the text is behind him, so no matter how I move the text, the text will stay behind him. See how that works? That is the beauty of layering. So it’s a really cool feature, now you know how to do it, you just click the Bring to Front, or Bring Forward, or Send Backwards button.

So now I’ve got this text selected, and I’m gonna do Bring Forward. And now he’s in front of the monster. Here’s another really cool feature that you can do with Webstarts. Let’s say for example that I want to move both of these things together; that I like the way the text sits on top of the monster, and I want to keep it like that, but I want to move my monster over to the
left, right? Well, what’s gonna happen if I just move the monster over?

I’m gonna have to go move the text individually, and it’s not very fun. So, let me undo that. Let me show you something cool: first, if I go ahead and click on the monster, I’m just gonna click on him once; now what I’m gonna do is click on the Digital Marketer Lab text, and when you do this, hold down the shift key. So when you do that, do you notice how it’s selecting both of them at the same time? Then go ahead and just move it over. Check it out, it moves them both together. And again, all I did was I first clicked on the monster, then I pressed and held the Shift key, and I clicked on the Digital Marketer text.

Just like that. Then, you can just move it over and it keeps things together, and there’s no limit to how many things you can grab. Let’s just say that I want to move all this stuff on top over to the left, so what I’m gonna do is first click on Digital Marketer, then I’m gonna press the Shift key, then I’m gonna click on Version 2.0, I’m gonna click on this guy, I’m also gonna click on the Digital Marketer Lab. You can’t see my keyboard, but I’m holding down the Shift key the whole time. I’m also gonna click on Welcome to the Monster with my Shift key held. There you go, it put boxes around everything, and all I do is just move it over. Is it cool, or is it cool? And I definitely screwed that up, so I’m gonna go to Edit – Undo, and there you go.

Then we’ll want to save our changes, so you can just go to File, and then Save and Publish. Here’s the thing: let’s say we want to set up another page. We want to set up our About page, right? We can go to our About page by clicking on this right here; see where it says Go To Page – Home? I’m gonna click on Home, and then I’m gonna switch it to About. Now, you see what the problem is? It did not automatically add all the changes that I added to the other page, right? I don’t want to have to redo that whole thing again. Well, I don’t have to because there’s actually a real quick fix for it.

Let’s actually first go over here to our Dashboard, so we’re gonna go back to our main section, and all I have to do is click on the Dashboard button at the top. Now what I want you to do is scroll down here. You see how they already have an About and a Contact page? Let’s just get rid of it; I’m gonna click the big red X right next to it - Delete. Yes, I want to delete it. Then we do is go to File, then New. Once you’re here you’ve got a few different options. Do you see here how I can go to Blank Page, Create a new blank page, or I can go to Copy from Page, make a copy of an existing page.
That’s exactly what we want to do. So I’m going to make a copy from Home, and I’m gonna call it About. Then I’m going to go to Create Page. Watch what it does. What it did was it created a duplicate page, and I can just set this up for About so I don’t have to redo the whole headline, the graphic and all that fun stuff. So this is where I can go down here and maybe I’ll say, like, About Us. Then I can go down here and I can edit this stuff, and I could say Hey, welcome to our page. Make sure you go to Google.com to check out how awesome it is! It will rock your socks off. I kind of sound like a robot, huh? So check this out: let’s say we want to turn Google.com into a link, so that way when people click it, it will take them to Google. We select it, then what we could do is go up to this picture that has a little chain link on it; this says Create Hyperlink.

I’m going to click on that, and look, I can actually link to one of my other pages, so let’s say that I wanted that link to take me to my Home page, or maybe a Contact page, or one of our
other pages. All we’d have to do is click on it. But, I want it to go to Google.com, right? So I’m going to click on Another Website, and I’m going to type that in right here: www.Google.com. I have the option to create that in another window, but I’m just going to go to Create Link, and that’s it. Look, it’s a link now. And I can do the same exact thing for pictures; I can actually click on this picture over here, and same thing.

I’m going to go to the link picture, and I’m just gonna click on that. Then, I’m going to have the picture take them to www.mcdonalds.com, why not? So we go to Create Link, and now this image is clickable. That simple. Oh yeah, I wanted to show you one other cool thing. You actually have the option here  to change how your links look. So let’s say you want to make it so that when they move their mouse over that link, it changes color, well, you can actually do that right here.

Here’s what I’m going to do: first, I’m going to click this so I’ll put the Underline text; I want it to underline my link, that’s a good idea. But right above it, I can click right here and it’s gonna change the color. So let’s say I want to make that link green. And let’s say when people roll their mouse over that link, I want it to change a different color. How about I want it to turn hot pink because that’s the way I roll, and tough guys wear pink.

At least that’s what this shirt says; I don’t know if it’s true. I’ll go to Create Link, and look at them apples. Look at what happens, when I move my mouse over Digital Marketer Lab, it now changes pink. Beautiful, huh? Let’s try playing with another design real quick. I just loaded one in and we’re starting fresh. Let’s say we like this design for a Home page, we’ll leave that as is. Let’s set up our About Us page. What I’m doing is I’m going to page About Us, so I’ll click on that. And for our About Us page, maybe we don’t want that slideshow coming up for that  specific page, so all I’m going to do is click on it, and I’m gonna press Delete, and it’s gone.

Let’s say we like this headline down here, WELCOME MESSAGE, and we want to get a similar headline at the top. Here’s what you can do: you can select it, then we can go to Edit – Copy, just like that, then I’m going to go to Edit – Paste, and it’s going to paste it right on top of it. So I actually just click my mouse down right on top of it, and I notice that there’s two now, so I’m just gonna drag this up to the top, just like that. I am going to double click on it, and it lets me edit the text. So maybe right here I’ll say About Us, right? Yeah, just like that. And I can go to Insert – Text, and I’m going to insert this text right down here.

I’m going to say, We here at Digital Marketer Lab Know to how to make AWESOMELY COOL (I know awesomely isn’t a word, but it is now, alright) WEBPAGES super easy….YEEEEAH baby! So now what I might want to do is stretch this out this way so that I can add a lot more text to it. So, that’s the way we roll.
